BAM Green installed the first solar net-metering system in Sri Lanka

Starting a new era in Renewable energy sector of Sri Lanka, BAM Green has installed the first solar net-metering system in Sri Lanka on 17th July 2010. The system was installed at the house of industrialist B.A. Mahipala; the chairman of BAM Green and BAM Holdings. The solar PV system was a “Thin Film” technology based 4.5 kW system which costs Rs. 1.7 million.

By participating the launch, Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka said that “For the first time in Sri Lanka domestic solar power energy could now be sold to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB)”
