Story of BAM Green’s path to best Solar Power Systems in Sri Lanka
We would like to introduce our company as BAM Green (PVT) Ltd, a fully owned subsidy of BAM Holdings which has a unique history over 3 decades and with 5000+ employees in the group.
BAM Green was established in year 2009
BAM Green was established in year 2009 in terms of providing Renewable Energy Solutions to those who consumes high electricity. We hold the pride of introducing the Solar Net Metering Systems to the country and we installed the very first domestic Solar Net Metering system of Sri Lanka in year 2010 at the Battaramulla residence of our Hon. Chairman Mr. B.A. Mahipala. The chief guest of the occasion was Hon. Minister Mr. Patali Champika Ranawaka, former Power and Energy Minister of the government of Sri Lanka.
Successful Journey of 14 Years
During this successful journey of 14 years, we have completed a large number of Systems Island wide, including domestic, commercial and Industrial, small, medium and large scale projects. Our After sales service has since become the best and beyond the expectations of our valued clients. We have achieved this success by using the world’s best quality Solar Panels, Inverters and other electrical components which are designed and made according to European standards and we hold the approval of Sustainable Energy Authority of Sri Lanka.
BAM Green Achieved Milestones
- BAM Green achieved other milestones as well during this journey such as powering the first fuel station in the Western Province (Madawala Enterprises, Pannipitiya).
- Powering the First Vehicle Service Station in Sri Lanka (Rathnayaka Auto, Bandaragama), Installing the largest roof top system in Down South (Arpico Super Center, Matara), Installing the first Hybrid System in Sri Lanka at the Eluvaitivu Island, Jaffna (Solar / Wind / Diesel Generators).
- We hold the track records of installing the Very first Solar Domestic Net Metering System, Installing the First Industrial Net Metering System at Thermo Plastic factory, Installing the First Net Plus system of 100kWP at Miami Exports Buttla and installing the maximum numbers of large scale projects above 100kWP in the country.

Mr. H. Mahipala holds a MBA from University of Wales. He has over 10 years of experience in Marketing & Customer Service. He is also the managing director for BAM Apparels (Pvt) Ltd and Perfect Garments (Pvt) Ltd.

The late Mr. B.A. Mahipala was a distinguished Mechanical Engineer and a proud graduate of the University of Peradeniya. With over 30 years of experience in diverse business domains ranging from apparel to manufacturing, he was a visionary leader who played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of BAM Holdings and its subsidiaries.
As the Founder and Chairman of BAM Holdings and BAM GREEN, his foresight and entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for the group’s expansion into renewable energy and sustainable innovation. His legacy continues to inspire our mission in advancing clean energy solutions for a better tomorrow.

Mr. I. Mahipala holds a BSC in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Cardiff. He commenced his professional career in software development & related services at MIT. Then moved into BAM group as director and has 6 years of experience as the Managing Director of the Groups Embroidery & Printing Sectors.

Mr. Hemantha Munasinghe is an Engineering graduate from in Production stream of University of Peradeniya and has a master degree in Manufacturing System Engineering from University of Moratuwa. Joined the group as a management trainee in 1992 and came up the ranks and became vice chairman of the group. With 25 years of experience in experience in the apparel sector, manufacturing sector and renewable energy sector and also structuring of the organization, BAM GREEN is lucky to have his service on the top.

Mr. Thushara Sampath joined BAM Green in 2017 and currently serves the company as the General Manager and Head of Finance. He has 17 years of experience in the fields of accounting, investment, budgeting, strategic planning execution and implementation, financial and risk management etc. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and has completed a diploma in Information Technology at SLIIT. He is a passed finalist in the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka and part qualified in Chartered Accountancy.

Mr. Purnima Abeynayake works as a Project Manager with over six years of specialized experience in the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Kotelawala Defence University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Electrical Installations from the University of Moratuwa. He leads the Engineering Division with a focus on innovative and sustainable solutions. His expertise includes designing solar PV systems, managing tenders and overseeing project management. He has secured and contributed to numerous key projects in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.

Mr. Dasun Egodawattha joined BAM Green back in 2019 as the Business Development Manager with his 15 years past experience in the Sales & Marketing field.
